About Office
The LGED Office (Local Government Engineering Department) was set up by the Government of Bangladesh to provide technical development plans and assistance in the construction of buildings for various organizations under the Local Government.This organization takes various measures including planning to build different bridges, culverts, roads etc. Rural development is very important for achieving economic progress of Bangladesh. The following four programs of the Comilla model for rural development were adopted in the early sixties of the nineteenth century, among which were-
1. Thana Training and Development Center (TTDC)
2. Rural Works Program (RWP)
3. Thana Irrigation Program (TIP) and
4. Two Tier Co-operatives
